As heftily heralded last week, Taylor Swift‘s domination of the updated Billboard charts is not only massive – it’s historic.
Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia‘ – the lead single from her latest Billboard 200-topping album ‘Life of a Showgirl‘ – danced to a no.1 debut on the updated Hot 100.
Here are the numbers that powered its placement.
- Streams = 92.5 million U.S.-based streams
- Radio airplay = 38.5 million audience impressions
- Sales = N/A
‘Ophelia,’ like its sister tracks on ‘Showgirl,’ has no sales data attached to its first-week commercial performance because none of the songs were available for individual purchase.
In coming as the lucky 13th Hot 100 chart-topper of her career, the Max Martin-produced tune’s chart premiere breaks Taylor’s tie with Queen of Pop Madonna and The Supremes (12 each) for third place among females on the all-time list.
Now the sole bronze titleholder, only Rihanna (14) and Mariah Carey (19) have more no.1s among women in the all-genre chart’s 67-year history.
When all acts are considered, however, Taylor’s now tied with Drake and King of Pop Michael Jackson for fourth-most Hot 100 leaders.

The ‘Showgirl’ domination didn’t stop with the top spot, however, as Taylor made history for capturing the entire Hot 100’s top 10 by her lonesome for the third time following hits found aboard 2022’s ‘Midnights‘ and 2024’s ‘Tortured Poets Department‘ albums.
