Courtesy of a GRAMMYs-presented event, the stars aligned to salute one of music history’s most eccentric divas: Cyndi Lauper.

Filmed over two nights in Los Angeles as Lauper wrapped up her year-long ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour,’ the special – ‘A Grammy Salute to Cyndi Lauper: Live From the Hollywood Bowl‘ – premiered on CBS on Sunday night (October 5) and saw the Pop legend bring out a who’s who to help wail her greatest hits.

And while big names like Joni Mitchell, Cher, Mickey Guyton, and Trombone Shorty graced the stage with awesome renditions of some of Cyndi’s greatest hits, two standout performances came courtesy of GRAMMY winners SZA and John Legend who tackled ‘True Colors’ and ‘Time After Time’ respectively.

Congrats to Cyndi. The album “She’s So Unusual” is timeless and great quality.
Girls just wanna have fun and Time After Time are my faves. Madonna and Cyndi should do a duet as they are like twins. Both iconic and legendary.

Sza was a poor choice. Cyndi stayed at whisper level singing when she realized Sza was already at belting level pre-chorus. Like, bish, the chorus is the beltiest part, u sure u can go higher than that? Then, she had to honor the song and go metallic high drowning out poor Sza. 😂
