As if watching his debut single ‘Just the Way You Are‘ become the highest-certified single in music history wasn’t enough to celebrate, Bruno Mars recently saw a slew of updates to some of the most prized discography entries help him pass a major threshold at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The RIAA took to press recently to announce the certification upgrades of nearly a dozen of Mars’ most prized hits.
Beyond the standout of ‘Just the Way You Are’ becoming the first song in history to be certified over double Diamond (for sales equivalence of 21 million in the United States alone), the 16-time GRAMMY winner now boasts two additional Diamond-certified cuts: ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ and ‘The Lazy Song.’

Among all male vocalists, only Justin Bieber (122.5 million), The Weeknd (132 million), Chris Brown (134 million), Post Malone (142 million), and Luke Combs (147.5 million) can boast having sold more in the same territory.
Entry into the exclusive “over 100 million sold” club makes Bruno only the third male singer of color to boast inclusion in the RIAA’s 73-year history.
Note: It’s worth calling out that the Recording Industry Association of America only credits certifications to lead acts, so any certified song where any artist mentioned in this article is listed as a feature is not officially added to his career count.

Usher has nine hot 100 Number one hits. If you think he doesn’t already have over 100 million singles sold then you’re smoking crack.
Michael Jackson has 13 hot 100 number one hits and is the best solo selling artist in Music history. If you think he hasn’t sold over 100 million singles then you’re smoking crack.
If you take away free streaming numbers none of the Male artist on this list would be on there. None of their numbers boomed until they added free streaming. If you only include pure sales most of them wouldn’t even be 50 million lol
I’ve always wondered where ppl sales would be if ppl actually still bought physical copies
