Just a year after Post Malone and Swae Lee were penciled in the history books of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their 2018 duet ‘Sunflower‘ becoming the first song ever to be certified double Diamond, Bruno Mars has raised that bar to unprecedented heights.
On Friday (October 17), the RIAA updated Bruno’s sales logs to reflect major updates to some of his biggest hits including ‘The Lazy Song,’ ‘Talking to the Moon,’ ‘Marry You,’ ‘Grenade,’ and more.
The clear standout of the brigade of upgrades is the double Diamond certification status attached to 2010’s ‘Just the Way You Are.’ For context, “Diamond” refers to sales equivalence of 10 million in the United States.
Now sitting at 21x Platinum for sales of 21 million in the USA, ‘Just’ has become the highest-certified song in history – leapfrogging over ‘Sunflower’ which sits at 20 million sold.
Released as the lead single from his debut album, 2010’s ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans,’ ‘Just’ was a global hit at the height of its popularity – even reaching #1 on the American Hot 100 as well as UK, Ireland, Israel, Netherlands, and New Zealand charts (to name a few).
With its status of 21x Platinum, The Smeezingtons-produced cut helped push Bruno’s career-wide single sales count to a whopping 120.5 million sold – making him one of the best-selling artists ever.

Lies and Fairytales. These days this industry will pump money into anyone they feel is worthy and make them look like stars regardless of the mediocre talent. I love Bruno but he’s a wedding/karaoke singer at best.
