Billboard has unveiled its list of the Top 50 Hip-Hop Album Covers of All Time, and the Queen Bee secured an impressive #1 ranking with he 1996 debut, ‘Hard Core’.

The recognition arrives just as the Recording Academy introduces a new Grammy category for Best Album Artwork, highlighting the importance of visual storytelling in music culture.

Shot by Michael Lavine, the ‘Hard Core’ cover remains one of the most iconic and provocative images in rap history.

Kim’s seductive pose on a polar bear rug, styled in a lingerie-inspired outfit and surrounded by roses and champagne, perfectly captures her balance of sexuality and feminine power in a once male-dominated field.

Billboard’s list also acknowledged other women in rap, with Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ placed at #49 and Nicki Minaj’s ‘The Pinkprint’ ranking at #46.

However, notable femcees like Missy Elliott and Megan Thee Stallion were not on this list.

Lil’ Kim’s top-tier placement reinforces that her influence continues to shape generations.

She’s the blueprint. Nicki may have taken it further but without Kim there would be no Nick. No girly girls was rapping before her.

We’re still talking about it 20 years later even if a lot of albums has been released by others and that’s why she will always be a legend. She made a cultural impact, yes she didn’t sell as much as Nicki but McDonald’s is selling a lot of sh*t too.
