“There’s NO Loyalty”: Dawn Robinson Disses “Mean Girls” En Vogue, Says Maxine’s Return Was a Set Up to Boot Rhona Bennett

Published: Saturday 22nd Nov 2025 by Rashad

Dawn Robinson has never had a reputation for biting her tongue, so longtime followers of the 58-year-old know better than to expect her to start now.

After her former group En Vogue sent shockwaves through the music industry this week by confirming the exit of member Rhona Bennett after 22 years of service, fans looked to see Robinson’s response to the report having long made her gripes with the R&B collective known.

She didn’t keep them waiting long; look inside to see her spicy reaction to the news of Bennett’s departure.

During her visit to ‘Halftime Chat RnB Podcast With Nnamdi Okoye,’ Robinson didn’t mince words while weighing in on the latest En Vogue lineup shakeup.

“22 years? I was only in [the group] for 8, but I brought a lot of big hits. She was with them for 22 years; no hits but still she gave a lot of time to that group,” Dawn shared. “They should’ve said ‘we love her and thank you for 22 years of your life.'”

When not expressing her disappointment about how “sweet” and “politically correct” Rhona’s departure announcement was, Robinson slammed En Vogue for being “mean girls” and even alleged their statement about the exit was untruthful.

“This was a time for them to tell the truth for a change, but they never do,” she said before suggesting the group should’ve detailed the specifics of what caused the split.

Among those “specifics,” according to Dawn, was the notion that Maxine Jonessurprise 2025 return after a nearly two-decade absence was a “set up” to get rid of Rhona.

Ouch!

Dawn is sick…genuinely. she needs help from what the industry did to her smh. Not ok for Rhona and not ok for Dawn.

I don’t now, maybe she’s telling the truth about Cindy and Terry being “mean girls.” But Maxine went back so she must’ve seen some sort of decency in them, or maybe it was just a career move plain and simple. Either way, looks like hope for a reunion of the original 4 is slim to no chance. But, never say never.

Rhonda there all those years as a placeholder and they dash her out without a care in the world. This is what happens when you come into an already established group with a legacy already in the history books and you were nothing more than a placeholder.

Rhonda brought not one hit to the group like Johnny Gill did with New Edition or Michelle did with Destiny’s Child or Cyndi Birdsound did with The Supremes.

Dawn needs to get her life together and get back in the group. They will be approaching 70 years old soon. Get a residency for some good retirement money.

Group members don’t “bring hits,” it’s ridiculous a thought. And she did more than just hold a place. She help carry the legacy those two old crows weren’t able to do ON THEIR OWN, contributed to two albums & worked just as hard on-stage and off as T&C. She deserves better treatment & more respect, from the two that needed her and from ppl like you. You probably don’t work at all, much less at the same job for 22 years so you have nothing to compare it to. It’s called Decency. Get some, it’s free.

Rhona was in the group longer than Maxine and Dawn combined. She help to keep the En Vogue brand alive and she was also a great performer, which helped make them look better. How they did her was dirty.

Dawn was in the group 8 years, 1 year and 4 years. 13 years total

      Dawn Robinson (1989–1997; 2005; 2008–2011)

Maxine was in the group 12 years, 9 years and almost 1 year. 22 years total

      Maxine Jones (1989–2001; 2003–2012, 2025–present)

Rhona was in the group 2 years, 2 years and 13 years. 17 years total.

      Rhona Bennett (2003–2005; 2006–2008; 2012–2025)

      You’re welcome.

      • TMontana November 25, 2025

Maxine was not back with them from 2003-2012, it was 2004-2011.

        YOU’RE Welcome.

How did Rhonda make them look better? Rhonda can’t dance and looked corny as hell, always stood out for being too tall and had no chemistry with Terri and Cyndi.

Your maths are also way off. You should check for facts before stating lies as facts.

At then end of the day, in 20 30 years time nobody will even know who Rhonda is, when they look back at En Vogue and their legacy it will be with Dawn, Cyndi, Maxine and Terri, they are the only members who had hits and platinum discs.

Rhonda is like one of those replacements in other girl groups who are still out there and nobody cares. Doing karaoke does not matter in a legacy group.

        Ignorance.

  5. Audiobully November 22, 2025

Dawn, stop making videos from your car and start making money by joining the group. Is this severe mental illness?

  6. Mac Hoc November 23, 2025

Never even heard of Rhonda Bennet.

I thought En Vogue long retired.

Dawn should go back to the group and get out of her car.

  7. Be Real Magil November 23, 2025

    Rona is a nobody.
    How is this news?
EnVogue last hit was in 1997.

Rona brought a whole lotta nothing to something that was already dead.

This lady come in years after their light went out and the light stayed out.

    • TMontana November 25, 2025

      Pathetic.

  9. Who wrote dis November 23, 2025

Whomever wrote this maybe should of done some checking before publishing.

Rona was not in the group 22 years, a simple google search would tell you this.

The original four ladies have reunited many times in the last 25 years.

Extremely glad Rhonda has exit off the stage. She never fit in from day dot.

Dawn better roll up in her home & get her spot back. Make money & get a proper home. She need to swallow her pride & Rhonda need to stay gone. Don’t want to see her again.

    • TMontana November 25, 2025

RHONA has a met worth of a million bucks, she ain’t worried about your warped logic & trifling disposition.

  11. Monica Stan November 23, 2025

Don’t nobody know this chick Rondra.
En Vogue have been in obscurity for so long I thought they broke up decades ago and only knew of them getting back together in the late 2000s to break up again.
To learn thus chick been in the group 22 years an never heard of her show they fell off and were like a review act.
Dawn need help as well. Sad to see her homeless.

    • TMontana November 25, 2025

      Rondra?

What does YOU not knowing who she is have to do with her decades of dedication & contribution to the group? She helped Terry & Cindy stay afloat, tour the world, entertain fans & make new music (2 albums.)

Since you live in a dumb bubble, try doing a little research to educate yourself. Simply reading their history on Wikipedia and watching performance videos on YouTube will show you what you’ve been missing while RHONA was LIVING, SINGING, TOURING, MAKING MUSIC, VIDEOS, FANS, & MEMORIES. What have you made? A fool of yourself.
