The California Court of Appeals upheld the rapper’s felony convictions and 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, according to legal journalist Meghann Cuniff.

Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, released a 31-page response refuting renewed efforts by Lanez’s legal team and supporters to challenge the conviction.

The report also reaffirmed that Ring camera footage had been introduced during the trial and that DNA evidence from the firearm showed a high percentage that the shooter was male.

Spiro shared:

“Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial by overwhelming evidence that included his own admission of guilt, he and his team, flanked by any ignorant person they can find, have pushed whatever misleading narrative they can.”

That’s not all.

As previously reported, a judge also denied Lanez’s request to avoid testifying in a related civil case.

The deposition is related to Megan Thee Stallion’s defamation case against gossip blogger Milagro Gramz, who she claims circulated misleading information about the incident and the 2022 trial, reportedly with Lanez’s financial support.

Tory Lanez is set to be released from prison in 2033.
