Lizzo's ex-dancers appeal to revive sexual harassment lawsuit

Lizzo‘s former backup dancers are turning up the heat, urging an appeals court to revive their sexual-harassment lawsuit and shut down the star’s attempt to shield certain allegations under the First Amendment.

Per Billboard, the dancers argue that the shocking conduct they described, including claims of being pressured to touch nude performers and eat bananas from their genitals during outings abroad, is not “creative expression” and shouldn’t be dismissed as protected speech.

This latest move follows a 2024 ruling that parts of the lawsuit proceed, despite the judge tossing out the widely discussed fat-shaming claim. The remaining accusations, however, were deemed “equally salacious” and worthy of a trial.

Now, the plaintiffs want the appeals court to clear the path for a jury to weigh in and for a judge to decide.
