‘Be Happy‘ hitmaker Mary J. Blige is undoubtedly living up to the title of her 1994 hit thanks to news a multi-million dollar lawsuit against her has been dismissed by the courts.

Nearly nine months after Blige first made headlines for being on the receiving end of a shocking lawsuit from Misa Hylton, her former best friend and stylist, a New York judge has tossed the case.

Hylton, also famous for being the ex of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, also received a stern warning from the presiding court official.

“The court in no way condones parties filing lawsuits claiming millions in damages based on inflammatory accusations, only to have those very same parties abandon their allegations when faced with a motion to dismiss and sanctions,” Judge Phaedra F. Perry-Bond wrote in a decision handed down on Tuesday (January 6). “Plaintiffs and their counsel shall consider this a warning to refrain from engaging in similar patterns of behavior in the future. This written warning may serve as weighty evidence on a future application for sanctions if plaintiffs and/or their counsel continue to engage in similar bad faith litigation tactics.”

In the original complaint, Hylton accused the R&B legend of trying to “coerce” Rap artist Vado, whom she was managing, into terminating his management agreement and moving on to Blige’s Beautiful Life Productions company.

Claiming Mary “purposefully sabotaged” her relationship with the up-and-coming musician, Misa sought millions in damages.

Vado, named as a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit, alleged Blige refused to release his music and owed $5 million for breach of contract.

Before filing the motion to dismiss, Blige’s legal team branded the allegations “baseless” and “malicious.”

At writing, Misa nor Mary has made a public statement about the dismissal.
