After months of investigation, one-time rising singer D4vd has been arrested in connection to the death of a missing teenage girl found in the trunk of his impounded car in September.
Taking to social media on Thursday (April 16), the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) announced the arrest of the 21-year-old star (born David Anthony Burke).
“The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration,” the LAPD shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) after revealing he is “being held without bail.”
Pinpointed as a person of interest in the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez after her remains were discovered in the trunk of his impounded Tesla in September, the arrest comes about two months after D4vd was also named a target of a grand jury probe that sought to determine his involvement in the crime and if Hernandez’s death was the result of foul play.
The teen’s body was found September 8, 2025, just one day after she would’ve celebrated her 15th birthday. It’s believed she had been dead for weeks by that point.
At writing, Burke’s personal connection to Hernandez has not conclusively been revealed although it is widely speculated the two were romantically involved.
Burke nor a rep from his camp has made a public statement about the rest as of the time of this report.
