Some good news for Lil Nas X in his LAPD assault case as the judge granted him the diversion he was seeking last month in order to avoid jail time.

The ‘Old Town Road’ rapper (born Montero Hill) received a two-year mental health diversion in his felony assault case, with the judge even saying his charges could be dropped if he completes the mental health diversion program and stays out of trouble with the law in the meantime.
The rapper is very grateful for this decision. He says:
‘I’m thankful. Just very thankful. It could have been much worse’.
But, if the MC fails to complete the program or engages in law-breaking activity in the meantime, the felony charges will be reinstated and carry a potential sentence of up to 5 years.
This follows the GRAMMY winning artist pleading not guilty after being arrested in August of last year under the suspicion of assaulting police officers while walking the streets of Studio City nearly naked.
Following this incident, the ‘INDUSTRY BABY’ hitmaker was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
His next court date is July 29.
