T.I. is making it clear he’s not backing down when it comes to his business.
The Atlanta rapper has filed a lawsuit against Cinq Music over a dispute involving his music catalog.
Full story below…
A decade after Cinq acquired much of T.I.’s recorded music, the rapper claims the company has failed to honor its end of the bargain.
According to reports from Billboard, Cinq purchased T.I.’s Atlantic Records-era catalog in 2017, which includes major projects like ‘King, T.I. vs. T.I.P.’, and ‘Paper Trail’.
T.I. says he only agreed to that deal because it included an option to buy back his masters later at an affordable price. However, he now alleges that when he attempted to buy them back, Cinq refused to comply with the original terms.
In the lawsuit, he claims the company dramatically inflated the buyback cost. While he says the agreement capped the price at around $3 million, Cinq came back with a demand of $52 million.
His attorney, Robert Jacobs, stated that the company appeared to regret the original deal and intentionally obstructed efforts to complete the purchase.
“Cinq regretted that it had agreed to the option terms, and, therefore … did everything it could to frustrate plaintiffs’ efforts to complete the purchase,”
This legal battle comes during a strong run for T.I., with new music like ‘Let EM Know’ gaining traction and taking back his relevance in the industry.
With the case still in its early stages, all eyes are on how this dispute will unfold and what it could mean for artists fighting to regain ownership of their work.

A modern day sla very. Read the contract carefully Gen Z before signing up. You might end like Toni Braxton…
How’s Scooter Braun doing?
He really is a whole joke in Atlanta! But this is supposed to be his city, right? Lol yeah. I had the liberty of seeing it all firsthand because his wife had her own apartment in Buckhead. I cannot stand him, and I do not support him or the people that revolve around him. I honestly feel sorry for the gay people who work for him and his family because it feels like a homophobic death sentence. I could really go into depth and spill a lot more tea, but I would rather keep the rest to myself. The funniest part to me is all that ego and pride, and he still does not even own his masters. Stanky attitude, stanky energy! KARMA IS A B**** LOL!
Who!?
