Taylor Swift is taking a stand against the growing use of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry, filing new trademark applications to protect her voice and likeness.

Full story below…

The Pop superstar, through her company TAS Rights Management, has reportedly submitted three trademark filings with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Two of those filings focus on sound trademarks, specifically phrases tied to her voice.

These filings aim to prevent unauthorized use of her voice in A.I.-generated content or the development of synthetic artists.

The move comes at a time when A.I.-generated musicians such as Xania Monet are beginning to emerge, raising new questions about originality in the music industry.

Swift’s decision also follows previous incidents involving misuse of her likeness, including unauthorized A.I.-generated images and political content.

Notably, her image was falsely associated with messaging tied to Donald Trump, as well as the circulation of explicit deepfake content.

One thing remains clear: no algorithm or artificial creation can replicate the authenticity of  Ms. Swift.
