Wireless Festival has officially been cancelled after UK authorities denied the rapper entry into the country. In a statement, organisers confirmed that the Home Office withdrew his Electronic Travel Authorisation, effectively preventing him from performing.
“The Home Office has withdrawn YE’s ETA, denying him entry into the United Kingdom. As a result, Wireless Festival is cancelled and refunds will be issued to all ticket holders.”
The statement continued by addressing the wider controversy surrounding the artist’s past remarks.
“Antisemitism in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognise the real and personal impact these issues have had.”
Organisers also noted that multiple stakeholders were consulted prior to booking the Chicago native, claiming no concerns were raised at the time. Still, backlash intensified rapidly following his recent Los Angeles shows, pushing the situation into overdrive.
