Stream: Kehlani Drops “Uncut Version” of Self-Titled Album

Kehlani may already be on her way to the biggest sales opening for a female R&B project released this year thanks to her self-titled album (released April 24), but the Bay songbird is looking to send that forecasted figure soaring by unveiling a new edition of the LP for streaming.

 

Billed a “thank you” to her growing legion of fans, Parrish took to Instagram days after the arrival of the original iteration of ‘Kehlani‘ to unveil the ‘Uncut Version.’

“I wanted to share something more personal—something that lets you hear these songs the way they first existed. Before the layers, before the final versions… just the feeling, the words, and the moment they were created,” she said to her 17.2 million followers on the platform. “These acapella and demo versions are a glimpse into my world. The early takes, the raw ideas that eventually became the records you know…This is my way of saying thank you.”

While the original version of ‘Kehlani’ comes as a star-studded affair featuring appearances from Usher, Cardi B, Brandy, Lil Wayne, and more, the ‘Uncut’ edition puts K front and center.
