The ceremony airs live on Sunday, June 28, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Cardi’s nominations include album of the year for Am I the Drama?, best female hip-hop artist, and best collaboration for the ‘Errtime’ remix featuring Jeezy and Latto. She is also up for viewers’ choice for ‘Outside,’ video director of the year, and the fashion vanguard award.
Druski will host the show. Queen Latifah, who hosted in 2010, is among the performers. MC Lyte will return as announcer.
Other current nominees set to perform include Doechii, Don Toliver, French Montana & Max B, Jill Scott, Kehlani, Tems, and T.I.
Special awards will also be presented. Ms. Lauryn Hill will receive the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award. Teyana Taylor will receive the Icon of the Year Award. Sylvia Rhone will receive the Ultimate Icon Award.
BET’s Connie Orlando described the show as a celebration of “artists, visionaries and cultural moments that shape our community.”
