Not even a month after Drake joined Rihanna and Taylor Swift in a tie for “most Hot 100 #1 hits this century” thanks to his ‘Iceman‘ single ‘Janice STFU,’ the latter has zoomed forward in Billboard record books on Monday (June 15) thanks to the ‘Toy Story 5‘ song ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ becoming her 15th chart-topper on the tally.
And – in typical Taylor fashion – she’s made history in the process.
‘Knew’ debuted at #1 on the updated Hot 100; here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 27.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 87,000 copies sold
- Radio Airplay ≈ 46.7 million audience impressions
The gargantuan 87,000 sales sum attached came courtesy of 70,000 from digital downloads and another 17,000 via three CD single options: its original, acoustic and piano versions.
With the #1 arrival of ‘Knew,’ Taylor collected the 9th chart-topping debut of her career and made history multiple times over including:
- First artist to score 15 #1 hits this century
- First artist to score 10 #1 hits this decade
- Most #1 debuts in Hot 100 history among women (9)
- First female artist to have 70 top 10 hits
- First song from an animated film to debut at #1 on the Hot 100
