Ebro calls out Ja Rule, 50 Cent, Timabaland and Busta Rhymes for Donald Trump Jr. performance

A fresh wave of controversy is brewing after hip-hop heavyweights 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule and Timbaland were announced as performers at an upcoming event hosted by Donald Trump Jr.

Among those sounding off is radio personality Ebro Darden, who publicly criticized the booking during a recent discussion on his show.

Never one to shy away from sharing his political views, Ebro expressed his disapproval of  names in hip-hop aligning themselves with an event tied to the Trump circle; he said:

“I think it’s whack for all of y’all. Ja Rule, Busta, 50, Timbaland. He continued, “And I know y’all don’t need the money. So, let’s put that over there.”

He also questioned why the rappers have chosen to make this move, especially given the complicated relationship between that audience and the culture, saying:

“I think it’s trash. Especially at a time where the communities that all of y’all come from, you know, are dealing with the fallout of all of this BS. That’s really the piece for me.”

While he floated the possibility that the appearances may be business-driven rather than political, he ultimately made it clear he wasn’t feeling their decision.
