Lizzo is opening up about the emotional aftermath of her new album ‘B*TCH’ missing the mark commercially.
The project, which moved under 3,000 units in its first week and failed to debut on the Billboard 200, has become a major talking point online. Now, the GRAMMY winner is addressing the disappointment directly in a new interview with the Swiftologist.
Full story below…
Speaking candidly, Lizzo admitted that the album’s muted commercial response hit her hard, especially because of how strongly she feels about the music.
She candidly quipped:
“I was really stressed and really sad for a few days because this is some of my best stuff. I had to come to terms with the fact that not only is the music industry different – we need to talk about the radio aspect – but also my relationship and my connection musically with the world is different. And I think I had to mourn that.”
The 38-year-old also revealed that friend and collaborator SZA reached out after the album’s chart performance made headlines.
“Thank God for Solána, she called me and was like ‘you’re on my mind.’ I was like ‘am I a failure???’ and she was like ‘oh my god no!’ She’s so sweet.”

Granted, the sales are the ultimate “ouch,” it is somewhat warming to see an artist wax so candid about the challenging times in their narrative.
In its own way, it’s refreshing.

Its because you’re embroiled in a lawsuit and have had a messy rollout, the album title and lead single, plus imagery are whack. Most of Lizzo’s fans are also Minaj’s fans and she attacked the barbs
Lizzo needs to understand she was a 15 minute. She had her 15 and it’s not being renewed. That’s all. Gimmick was fun. Now we are on to the next. Take your money, invest it. We’ll holla later!
Just dig a hole, fat b I t ch! Even p o r n industry is not welcome your ugly fat ass
