50 Cent is looking to bring his latest legal battle to an early end.
The rapper and media mogul has asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought by his former longtime employee, Monique Mayers, branding the case a headline-chasing “media stunt” built on allegations that his lawyers say she has failed to connect directly to him.

Mayers, who worked as his assistant from 2007 until her dismissal in 2019, sued in April. She alleges that she was subjected to more than 80 harassing calls and messages after their professional relationship ended, and is pursuing claims including intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.
However, TMZ reports that, in newly filed court documents, the star’s attorneys argue that Mayers has not accused him of personally placing a call, sending a message, leaving a voicemail, or instructing anyone else to contact her.
Instead, his team maintains that strangers were attempting to reach “Curtis,” “50,” or “Fif” using a number they had associated with him during Mayers’ 12 years on the job. The filing also questions why she retained the number if the unwanted contact had become persistent.
His lawyers are challenging the timing of the action too, arguing that the claims arrived years after Mayers’ employment ended and fall outside the applicable statute of limitations.
They also insist references to the performer’s high-profile bankruptcy and an alleged request for Mayers to file a false police report have no bearing on the causes of action before the court, accusing her of including the claims to sway public opinion.
50 is seeking the complete dismissal of the lawsuit, as well as an order requiring Mayers to cover his attorneys’ fees. A judge has not yet ruled on the motion.
