Another unsettling detail has emerged from D4vd’s preliminary hearing in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
For, a Los Angeles Police Department criminalist testified that 11 air fresheners were discovered throughout the singer’s Tesla, the vehicle in which the 14-year-old’s dismembered remains were found in September 2025.

According to PEOPLE, criminalist Chelsea Murillo processed the Tesla on September 9, one day after the remains were discovered inside its front trunk.
“I gathered some of the air fresheners and found 11 throughout the vehicle.”
Murillo unpacked how most were located around the center console, rear seats, and front trunk. Maggots and dead flies were also observed in the area where two bags containing the teenager’s remains had been placed.
The witness further described a strong odor coming from the dusty vehicle, which she said smelled consistent with a decomposing body.
The testimony came during another painful day for Rivas’ family. Her mother, Mercedes Martinez, reportedly broke down when her daughter’s passport photograph was displayed in court. Prosecutors say the passport was later found beside a highway in Santa Barbara County, an area D4vd allegedly visited following the teen’s death.
The latest evidence follows earlier graphic testimony that the family’s attorney described as deeply traumatic.
D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. The hearing will determine whether there is sufficient evidence for him to stand trial.
