J. Cole has canceled his Sacramento concert following the death of a member of his touring crew in a highway crash Thursday morning.
The show, which was scheduled to take place at the Golden 1 Center on August 27, was called off in the wake of the tragedy.

Dreamville Records announced the cancellation on social media, writing:
“Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole’s performance at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento tonight, August 27, has been canceled. Our thoughts are with the crew member’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
The crash occurred at around 6 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Woodland, California. The driver was hauling equipment from Cole’s Seattle show when the big rig overturned.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle drifted onto the right shoulder before the driver lost control while attempting to return to the roadway.
The driver, the truck’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified him as 66-year-old Jarlath Parkinson of South Carolina.
Sacramento was set to be the first of eight consecutive California dates on Cole’s ‘The Fall Off World Tour’. He is currently scheduled to perform in Oakland on Saturday, though it remains unclear whether that show will proceed as planned.
Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds.
