NBA YoungBoy has opened up like never before about his health struggles and – at just 26-years-old – suggests he’s not far from leaving his chart-topping Rap career behind.

Sharing the news during a special visit to the ‘Open Thoughts’ podcast, Youngboy Never Broke Again (also known as NBA YoungBoy) chatted it up with host Funny Marco live from Korea (where the rapper now resides).
Detailing how he is living with a heart condition, NBA revealed he has “one or two” albums and one tour left in his career before heavily considering retiring.
When asked if he ever felt like pulling back during live performances, the Hip-Hop hitmaker responded:
“On tour, a doctor told me the left side of my heart was swollen and I never told nobody. I just kept doing every show. I finished my tour out like that.”
Despite seeming like he was getting better, YoungBoy added that the issue hasn’t completely faded. He said:
“My heart kind of still is enlarged on this little side. That explains the music though, right? She’s hurting.”
The news comes as a surprise to his diehard fans as his career has been remarkably prolific.
In January, the RIAA announced that YoungBoy earned more Gold and Platinum certifications than any other rapper ever – surpassing big names like Eminem, Kanye West, Drake, and Jay-Z at the time.
His headline-making successes have only been rivaled by multiple run-ins with the law, however, including pleading guilty to gun charges in 2024 that led to him being sentenced to 23 months in federal prison.
President Trump pardoned him in May 2025.
When asked by Marco if he would consider moving back to the United States, YoungBoy answered:
“Never in my life.”
