Tyga’s latest album, ‘$TARFACE,’ has been met with a scathing response from critics, most notably Pitchfork. For, the platform who have issued the lowest score the outlet has given since 2007: 0.0.

The rapper’s rollout for the ’80s-inspired album was rocky from the start; the artist told VIBE that he used AI for the project and that he “didn’t care” that he used it on the album, comparing it to any other tool, like Auto-Tune, that’s been used in the industry for years.

Tyga previously shared :

“Like, why are people overexplaining how they make shit that’s good? If you like it, you like it; if you don’t, you don’t. I don’t care. It’s supposed to give you an experience and a feeling. But we definitely used AI as a tool. And I know people are going to be mad about me saying this, but it’s where technology is going. It’s no different than when Auto-Tune came out. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.”

Pitchfork is known for its harsh reviews, but this latest one is an all-time low you can’t get lower than a zero.

The outlet described Tyga’s latest project as “smug and complacent and depressing,” adding that “its very existence has made the world a worse place.”
