The Billboard 200 is serving birthday cake for Beyoncé.
For, two decades after its original arrival, the superstar’s sophomore album ‘B’Day’ has charged back into the upper reaches of the coveted tally following the release of its 20th anniversary edition.
And the numbers powering its comeback are equally sweet.
Full story below…
On the refreshed Billboard 200, ‘B’Day’ re-enters at #8, marking its first appearance on the chart since 2008.
Per Billboard, the album earned 38,000 equivalent album units during the latest tracking week, soaring 385%.
Streaming accounted for the biggest slice of the total. The set pulled 22,000 units from streaming, equating to approximately 22.49 million official on-demand streams in the US.
Pure album sales added another 16,000 copies, sending ‘B’Day’ back to #4 on Top Album Sales.
Originally released in 2006, the LP debuted atop the Billboard 200 and became Queen Bey’s second consecutive solo #1. Its opening frame registered a mammoth 541,196 copies.
The newly expanded edition arrived across CD, vinyl, and digital configurations and packs a suite of bonus material alongside the album’s signature smashes.
Among its additions is ‘Morning Dew (Donk)’, which debuted at #26 on the Hot 100 in July and has since climbed to #1 on Adult R&B Airplay.
The full 20th anniversary edition aptly arrived on the diva’s birthday (September 4).
Twenty years on, Queen Bey’s reign continues!

Congratulations Bey 🥰😇✅
I love the classics:

FLOPYonce by B’s standards.
The whole thing has been meh! To include “Morning Dew”, a song not even recorded during the album’s production, and then the lackluster narrative around the release- no behind the scenes footage, no special performance and no interviews, its just lackluster. The original album isnt exactly culturally revered either.
Best song on BDay? Back Up.
Never heard it til the rerelease.
The resung version slaps harder!
THIS is when Beyonce was fun. Creole, Back Up, Lost Yo Mind…all great stuff that should have been on the original. Can I Watch You really makes Beyonce sound like a Prince protégé. SO GLAD she didn’t actually go down that route, but I like that track also.
