Chart Check [Hot 100]: Miley Cyrus’ ‘Bass Persuades’ Is the Week’s Highest-Charting & Top-Selling New Song

Published: Tuesday 15th Sep 2026 by Rashad

Miley Cyrus may have proclaimed “the kids don’t wanna dance” in her banging new single ‘Bass Persuades,’ but the out-of-the-box Billboard success of the September 3-released cut is suggesting the opposite.

‘Bass’ bumped onto this week’s Billboard Hot 100 at #35. Here are the numbers that powered its debut placement.

  • Streaming ≈ 5.7 million U.S.-based streams
  • Sales ≈ 3,500 copies sold
  • Radio Airplay ≈ 6.6 million audience impressions

The lead single from her September 18-due new album of the same name, the opening commercial performance of ‘Bass’ – bolstered in part by a handsome digital sales sum alongside notable streams and radio airplay – helped it not only become the week’s highest-charting new entry but also the top-selling among previously uncharted songs.

Marking the 25th top 40 hit of her nearly 20-year career, the Kid Harpoon-produced tune’s landing comes as her first time appearing in that chart region by her lonesome since 2023’s ‘Used to Be Young’ peaked at #8.

Among all her releases, however, her most recent top 40 placement was earned with the #6-peaking, Beyonce-led ‘II Most Wanted’ in 2024.
