Lionel Richie has reportedly been hospitalized for the third time in just three months.
The music legend is receiving treatment for atrial fibrillation, with the fresh heart scare forcing the cancellation of three forthcoming shows with Earth, Wind & Fire.

According to TMZ, Richie is currently under medical care after experiencing another heart issue.
The 77-year-old is reportedly being treated with an AFib ablation, a minimally invasive procedure designed to block faulty electrical signals and restore a regular heartbeat.
As a result, the next three dates on Richie’s joint ‘Sing a Song All Night Long Tour’ with Earth, Wind & Fire have been canceled. The affected performances were scheduled for September 26 in San Francisco, September 30 in Chicago, and October 2 in Columbus, Ohio.
The development is especially concerning as it marks the superstar’s third hospital stay since June.
On August 29, Richie was admitted to intensive care following a concert in St. Louis. He reportedly spent three days in the ICU undergoing cardiac testing after appearing weak and requesting a chair during the show.
That episode came just two months after the performer was rushed to hospital by ambulance when he became dizzy and felt “strange” during the tour’s opening night in St. Paul.
Richie later returned to the stage following the initial scare and assured fans that he was doing well.
At present, neither Richie nor his representatives have publicly addressed his latest hospitalization or revealed when he may return to performing.
