Lizzo has scored a major victory in one of the legal battles that has followed her for several years.

A federal judge has thrown out the remaining claims brought by former tour wardrobe employee Asha Daniels against the superstar’s touring company, bringing the closely watched case to a dramatic end at the trial-court level.

According to Billboard, U.S. District Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha granted summary judgment in favor of Big Grrrl Big Touring and the other remaining defendants.

Daniels, who worked on ‘The Special Tour’ in 2023, had alleged that she experienced sexual and racial harassment, disability discrimination, and a hostile work environment while employed as a wardrobe designer.

The judge ruled that the conduct Daniels identified, while in some instances inappropriate and unprofessional, did not meet the legal threshold required for her harassment claims to proceed. Her disability claims were also rejected.

The GRAMMY winner herself had already been dismissed as an individual defendant from Daniels’ lawsuit in 2024.

Her attorney Melissa Glass celebrated the latest ruling, telling TMZ:

“The court’s ruling today granting summary judgment is a total victory for Lizzo, her touring company, and the other defendants named in Asha Daniels’ ludicrous lawsuit.”

Daniels’ attorney Ron Zambrano expressed disappointment with the decision and said his team is considering its next steps.

Of note, this case is separate from the headline-grabbing lawsuit filed by former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez. That legal battle remains ongoing, despite Lizzo previously scoring a win when the fat-shaming claims were dismissed.

The singer has maintained her innocence throughout the legal drama and recently stressed that she does not intend to settle the dancers’ case, insisting she wants “the truth” to come out.
