The fallout surrounding Pink and Macklemore has taken another major turn.

A petition calling for the Pop rebel to be removed from her role as a UNICEF Ambassador has surged to approximately 127,000 signatures and counting.

And organizers are pointing directly to Pink’s comments amid the heated discourse surrounding Macklemore’s pro-Palestine stance.

The Change.org petition, launched September 11, argues that Pink’s recent remarks are incompatible with what its organizers believe should be expected of a UNICEF representative.

Its creators wrote:

“An ambassador should unify, not divide, and should always maintain neutrality to ensure they are trusted voices for universal child welfare.”

The campaign follows Pink’s involvement in the increasingly sprawling controversy that began when Macklemore declared “Free Palestine” while opening for Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium.

As reported, Pink later defended her position at length, stressing both her Jewish heritage and her belief that innocent Palestinian lives must be protected.

She wrote at the time that Palestinians “deserve a future that honors their humanity and their aspirations,” while maintaining her criticism of aspects of Macklemore’s presentation.

Pink has served as a UNICEF Ambassador since 2015, with her work primarily focused on children’s health and nutrition.

At present, UNICEF continues to list the singer in that role and has not publicly announced any change to her status.

The petition serves as the latest ripple in a saga that has already seen Macklemore removed from Sheeran’s tour, several support acts withdraw, and millions pledged to humanitarian relief by Macklemore, Sheeran, and Robert Kraft.

“This past weekend, the world witnessed a disheartening display of divisiveness and hatred from Pink.

Pink ranted against supporters calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza.

Her statements fueled ongoing conflict and struggles for visibility and empathy. Today, Pink chose to reinforce her position and specifically mentioned her role as a UNICEF Ambassador while doing so.

As individuals who care deeply about the welfare of children around the world, we must hold UNICEF Ambassadors to the highest standards of neutrality and compassion. Palestinian children, like all children affected by genocide, deserve ambassadors who unequivocally extend support and empathy towards their plight.

Pink’s recent comments are not just unfortunate but also incompatible with the role of a UNICEF Ambassador—an individual expected to promote peace, understanding, and humanitarian values above personal biases. UNICEF’s mission is to uphold the rights and dignity of all children, regardless of political affiliations or geographic boundaries. We rely on ambassadors to be torchbearers of these principles, fostering inclusive dialogue and meaningful support.

UNICEF is actively helping children and families in Gaza and throughout the region. Pink’s statements underscore these efforts.”
