All aboard! The Soul Train Awards are officially making a comeback.
Just over a year after BET announced that the beloved celebration of R&B, Soul, and Black music had been suspended indefinitely, the network has reversed course in a major way.
And this time, the ceremony is getting an even bigger platform.

According to Variety, the 2026 Soul Train Awards will return this November and air across both BET and CBS.
The comeback arrives after BET CEO Scott Mills revealed in August 2025 that both the Soul Train Awards and BET Hip Hop Awards were being paused as the company explored how the franchises could evolve amid changing viewing habits.
At the time, Mills stressed that the shows were not necessarily gone for good. Evidently, the Soul Train Awards have found their next stop.
The ceremony was last staged in 2023, when SZA, Usher, and Victoria Monét were among the night’s big winners.
Now, with CBS joining BET as a broadcast home, the long-running celebration is poised to reach one of its broadest television audiences yet.
