Singer-turned-media personality Keshia Chante is hoping to turn down the noise around the ongoing rumor that her former fling Drake is the father of her unborn child.

Chanté recently broke the news she is expecting her first child, but well-wishes were quickly overshadowed by a churning rumor mill that’s spun out reports her teenage boyfriend / Rap superstar Drake (born Aubrey Graham) is the father.

The murmurs started when the ‘Bad Boy‘ singer took to ‘Hello Canada!‘ to announce the pregnancy, but stopped shy of confirming who her romantic partner is.

“He’s brilliant and super creative and just constantly doing things that I’m inspired by,” she said of her man without naming him. “So I would love to see my son have his mannerisms and his swag.”

Internet sleuths immediately pointed to Graham as the unnamed dad, but reps from his team quickly shut that down.

“It’s false,” the spokesperson confirmed to ‘PEOPLE‘ on Tuesday (October 6).

Chante doubled down on the statement during a visit to her local news outlet ‘CP24’ in Toronto on Wednesday (October 7).

“He is not the dad,” she said, laughing off the rumor despite still keeping mystery around her partner. “My son’s father, I love him dearly, he’s in the music industry, and he’s also a public figure.”
