The ‘Crank That’ hitmaker has sparked speculation about a potential presidential run in 2028 after sharing a statement on social media hinting at a career pivot.

Opening his post with “SOULJA BOY 2028,” the rapper outlined four key areas he would focus on, including economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education, and the future of technology and artificial intelligence.
He wrote:
“From music to business to technology, I’ve always believed in thinking bigger and challenging what’s possible.”
Adding that he is now exploring how to bring that vision into public service.
However, he would not be the first rapper to entertain a presidential bid. Kanye West ran as an independent candidate in the 2020 US election, receiving approximately 70,000 votes nationwide. He later expressed interest in running again in 2024, although the full campaign did not materialize.
For now, Soulja Boy has yet to formally declare his candidacy or share detailed policy proposals.
