The Grammy winner is set to perform at the annual event on October 17, which raises funds to support the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
While Swift’s setlist remains under wraps, attention is already turning to whether she could perform ‘I Knew It, I Knew You,’ her upcoming contribution to ‘Toy Story 5.’ The track could also put Swift in competition for her first Oscar nomination.
Speaking on the star’s upcoming performance, Academy Museum President and Director Amy Homma said:
“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world, we are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
Swift’s appearance follows her recent MTV VMAs showing, where she received the inaugural Artist-Director Award and debuted the music video for ‘Patient Zero.’
The gala will also honor Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo, and John Carpenter.
