The rapper/mogul reportedly attracted approximately 80,000 fans to his Halloween (October 31) concert at Houston’s Reliant Stadium, setting a new record for the highest-attended Rap concert ever at a U.S. stadium.
A nearly three-hour spectacle that delivered plenty of memorable moments including a career-spanning setlist of classics like ‘Gold Digger,’ ‘Stronger,’ ‘Jesus Walks‘ and ‘Runaway‘ alongside new material from his latest album, ‘Bully,’ the performance also featured surprise appearances from Playboi Carti and West’s daughter, North West.
The star-studded occasion also attracted Drake and Travis Scott, who were spotted watching from the audience.
To celebrate the history-making moment in Texas, State Representative Ron Reynolds presented Ye with a state proclamation recognizing his contributions to music and culture, along with a Global Icon Award.
The former honor is akin to the controversial recognition Chris Brown recently received in the same state.
Ye’s presentation also included receiving a commemorative Texas flag that had been flown over the Texas State Capitol.
The 49-year-old is expected to keep the momentum going with two more shows, including a November 7 date in the Dallas area and a November 21 performance in Phoenix.
