While some fans of songbird India Arie rejoiced at news of the Grammy winner’s forthcoming album ‘Songversation’ (June 25) – led by the single ‘Cocoa Butter’ – others weren’t exactly gleaming at first glance of the single’s cover art.

I don’t think she bleached her skin but the photo was obviously photoshopped and shot in a way to alter her appearance. But the more I look at the photo I think the lighting was most likely intentional and the obvious photoshopping of her face especially the shape of her chin and the slight alteration of her nose was definitely intentional. I think it’s obvious that someone wanted to make India Arie look different and I guess she liked what she saw and went along with it. Maybe she is not as in love with her natural appearance as she would have others to believe.

I don’t think she has bleached her skin. Keep in mind that the first pic was probably under artificial bright light while the second pic was most likely under little or dim lighting.
