K. Michelle was not the only one snubbed. Basically, K. Michelle’s album needed more hits on it. That is why she was not nominated. Tamar’s album came out better and has had more singles, two of which being possible number 1 songs (Love and War – already went number 1 and All the Way Home). Good music brings in better sales and award nominations. The only award K. Michelle might have had a chance for was Best New Artist but her personality probably messed that up.

K has a beautiful voice. Its just hard to tell behind the content of the album. There is a point where “keeping it real” can go too far and honestly after the first few songs I was bored and kinda disappointed as a person who loved her first single “Can’t Do This.” I hope this pushes her to push the envelop even further and write good, quality music instead of one time hits. Not so much for the sake of a Grammy but more so for the longevity of her career as an artist and vocalist.
I don’t like comparing artist but since everyone is talking about Tamar, she had heavy hitter writers on her album. The Grammys doesn’t care about who can sing live or who has the best vocal range. Its about quality and content of the music.
