After cutting ties with long time collaborator Drew Scott, 2013 saw Dawn Richard return to the arms of original group Danity Kane, joining its remaining members in their quest for a sizeable comeback.
Fast forward to 2014, and the ladies are yet to deliver the studio album their fans hope will bring them the international acclaim their world class talent should have afforded them during their first run.
Now, in news that will no doubt excite these supporters, ‘Billboard’ joins Richard to tease a special announcement pertaining the group’s future…set for liftoff this month!

In an article detailing Dawn‘s rise to the top, the publication spills:
“Since last year’s decision to reform, however, Danity Kane has worked tirelessly alongside producers like the Stereotypes to finish its next batch of songs. There is no timetable for an album release, but Richard says that the group has enough material to put out a finished full-length immediately. A special announcement is coming sometime in the next month, perhaps coinciding with the group’s Mar. 15 performance at Fort Cheyenne in Las Vegas.”
Going a long way to push the star’s solo ambitions, Billboard‘s piece on the ‘Bombs‘ belle also saw her reveal that she found the idea of reuniting with the group difficult, revealing:
“It came out of left field, and it was hard at first, because the momentum was really great and it would have been perfect to drop ‘Blackheart,’ but I wasn’t looking at it for selfish reasons. My girls asked me to come back, and I had to pay homage to the fact that there wouldn’t be ‘Goldenheart’ if there wasn’t Danity Kane.”
With the hype surrounding their return still sky high, here’s hoping the right moves are being made to ensure their plans come to fruition…and soon.
For, with Pop placing a very cruel life cycle on its female contributors, there really is no time to waste, and it’d be a shame if all the work that’s gone into rebuilding them amounts to all of nothing when all’s said and done.

Many girl groups have reunited over the last 10 years & have not reach the same success of their past glories. Jay, that maybe your opinion but the truth is that Little Mix is some place where Danity Kane can only dream of, the biggest western girlband which DK did not achieve in 2008. Pussycat Dolls were a bigger global act. Little Mix will be headlining their own Arena Tour performing at venues up to capacity of 20,000 people. Danity Kane have not & will not headline an Arena tour.

I’m glad to finally see a group that WANTS to be a group and support each other. Every girl group has that ONE chick you know wants to be solo and that’s why they all break up in the end. Danity Kane really see the COLLECTIVE vision of the group and it’s refreshing to see woman want to work together and SLAY! There are no girl groups out right now so the stage is theirs!

Delusional DK fans,DK reunited because their solo careers were a flop. Collective vision, the only vision they saw were the dollars, not making no money as soloist, have a better chance with DK. Aundrea does not look interested, Shannon is still Shannon, no voice. The 2 egos Dawn & Aubrey are pushing this, I give this 1 year before Aundrea leaves. The stage is theirs to show us why it did not work in the 1st place.
