Topping the Hot 100 will prove itself no problem for pint-sized powerhouse Ariana Grande.
After breaking iTunes records when her Iggy Azalea-assisted single “Problem” topped its tally in less than an hour, fans and naysayers alike were interested to see how that performance would translate onto Billboard charts.
Well, wonder no more. For, if industry forecasts prove themselves veritable, the problem has only begun for Grande’s pop competition.
Via Billboard:
“Industry sources suggest that the song, which previews Grande’s second album, due this summer, could sell more than 300,000 downloads in the tracking week ending Sunday, May 2…”
“Such a start, regardless of any added airplay or streaming points, would likely translate to a top 10 debut on the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100. “

Congratulations are certainly in order for Miss Grande. According to Billboard, only 22 songs in the last decade have matched or surpassed ‘Problem’s forecasted first week downloads. But, after radio airplay and streaming are factored in, the chances are heightened that the tune’s entrance on the chart may be right at the top.

Well damn, Congrats Ariana and Iggy for all the success! I like problem, its a step up for Ari. Iggy definitely give the track an added boost, regardless its a nice song and its no surprise to me that its doing so well!

I love Ariana and I bought the single! But in my honest opinion, the only part of the song that sounds great is the hook “Head in the clouds got no weight on my shoulders I should be wiser and realize that I’ve got” that’s all the rest is meh…
I agree with you. That is the catchiest part Ariana serves in the song.Her other parts could’ve came stronger but overall, I see a girl coming out of her shell, which is promising :)!

Say what you want about Iggy, but she pulled in commendable numbers for a debut and she helped Ariana sell that single. Iggy’s is doing well on Itunes Top 100 Song chart. She has songs that are #1 and #2 respectively.
That’s huge, especially for this sales climate. Labels should definitely consider putting songs on pre-order in the US now.
And you know Azealia is FUMING, along with the Marina stans since Charli XCX is apparently her “lessor” yet already has two hits. Fancy will be the song of the summer.

Still waiting on TGJ to report on Rita flop single. I mean isn’t she the next big thing here? The way y’all was promoting her and gassing her up. Stay in articles talking about how great she is yet I see no proof of that outside of endorsements.
What if Iggy were to brag like Nicki Minaj did? It’s good to be humble. No, Iggy does not have Nicki Minaj’s fan base or big promotions but she might go #1 before Nicki. And even if she doesn’t go #1, female rappers respect her because she did not come into the game dissing female rap legends. You can call her songs childish with no substance, but that’s what everyone said about Nicki’s songs too. Nicki started Starships and Super Bass and opened the doors for the type of rap music Iggy is making. If you don’t like her music, blame Nicki for taking pop rap too far just to make money.

i think ariana is on the right track as far as singles and music stye she just needs to step her games up visually, and of course grow a bigger FAN BASE i mean look at i this way. her last album shouldve been gold by now but it isnt not because her music is wack or because she did not promote it correctly it was because her visuals were not on point and of course most importantly she didnt have a HUGE album buying fanbase!!

Ariana’s debut album didn’t sell much because they were already planning this follow up. It was basically treated like a “buzz” album. You can’t do that. Each album deserves its own time and promotion.
