Beyond her headline grabbing good news; with today being the kick off of the 2014 World Cup, what better time for Kelly Rowland to unwrap the video for new song ‘The Game’.
As reported, the anthemic number is lifted from Pepsi’s new visual album compilation, which is aptly titled ‘Pepsi Beats Of The Beautiful Game’.
The project pairs a number of major names from music (including Rowland, Rita Ora, and Janelle Monae) with major directors.
Ms. Kelly appears to have nabbed the best of the pack for her clip, as it’s the iconic Spike Lee who took the helm of the visual.
Still not roused by the song, however when paired with the stunning visual, it definitely “works”. A good look.

We all know how well Kelly rowland does with Dance songs on a worldwide scale. That being said, this song should have been re-worked into a dance track and the verses should sang in a higher octave, allowing her to soar when the chorus starts. Then i would really be feeling ‘The game.’ This as an urban/r&b cut just sounds blah. Think about, ‘when love takes over,”forever and a day’ and ‘commander’ type vocals on this song…it would slay.
