Tbh, Monica’s career started falling off the ladder due to her trying to follow what Aaliyah was doing which was dancing. Ever since Monica danced in “First Night” which is my song btw and although became #1 she started flopping. Both her and Brandy flopped around the same time and saw decline but now there is a lot of interest in what both artists have to offer today due to that great singles that be coming out!

Well good. I hope Monica speeds up the tempo and makes her music a little less urban/AC next time around. It was cute when she found renewed success channelling Anita Baker a few years ago, but now it’s time to get a little loose and have a little fun again. And working with JD is a good move. Both Monica and Usher thrive when he’s at the helm of what they’re doing (and both fall off when they decide to bring in other people.) He seemed to “get” them more than most of the other people they tried to use as subsequent collaborators

JD has always been a good producer (especially with Monica; some of his best work was done with her). The problems started when he decided to step in front of the camera.
Monica is my ATL peeps, she been in the game since 93″. She might not be selling like crazy or on the charts like that no more, but one thing for sure is she holds her own. I live for this classy hood chick. She knows when to cut it on and off.
Jermaine in demand? By who exactly? Mariah Carey was his biggest hope for a comeback and I said this from the start, Mariah’s career at the moment was in no shape to add Jermaine on board. He basically fukked up whatever chance Mariah had for a EOM comeback… He basically was dragging her to his ditch.. I’m glad M cut Jmash off… she wasn’t being a b**** she was just being a smart business woman.
She’s so pretty and I would love for this album to be certified, so I’m hoping she brings her A game. Even though New Life was a B- album, it still has some tracks that get played.

I am so here for this! I love Monica and appreciate the music she puts out. She stayed true to her authentic sound. Would I like her to try some new elements with her music, of course, who would’t? But I do not want her to follow trends. I appreciate the fact she is taking her time and making this next album. I went and seen her live a number of times and vocally she never disappoints! I have all of her albums and they still get played in heavy rotation (especially Still Standing)! But I welcome her back. Her last album was good just wrong single choice (see the bonus tracks “Breathe” “3D” & “Catch Me.” If you brought the album you know exactly what I am talking about. Let’s Go Monica….we got you!

Monica needs to make sure her hooks are strong and catchy enough for public consumption. That tends to be her problem. She also needs better management. That being said, I’m always in support of her working with JD, because they [usually] mesh well. I also wish she would reunite with Dallas Austin. A Monica album half produced by JD and half produced by Dallas would be perfect!
