After welcoming major first week sales last week, Drake‘s ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ continues to rock and roll on the Billboard 200 this week!
For, before his rivals Chris Brown and Tyga impact the chart with their new album ‘Fan of a Fan’, the ‘What If I Kissed You’ performer has sold 187,000 units of ‘Late’ in its second week, pushing it to sales of 624,000 units ten days after it was turned over to digital retailers.
Alas, 195,000 units moved by the ‘Imagine Dragons’ LP ‘Smoke + Mirrors’ saw Drizzy booted from the top spot, placed at #2 as his ‘Truffle Butter‘ pal Nicki Minaj watches her new album reclaim a spot in the Top Ten.

Now on course to outperform her second studio album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded‘, Minaj’s ‘The Pinkprint‘ crossed the 500,000 units sold barrier last week and now sits at #9 after selling 41,000 units in the last seven days.

The Pinkprint went gold in less time than Roman Reloaded. Roman Reloaded took like 3 months to go gold. But Truffle Butter is the next single. The Night Is Still Young was supposed to be the next single but Republic Records sending Truffle Butter to pop radio on March 3rd. “Fans will choose between Want Some More”, “Get On Your Knees” or Feeling Myself” as the 6th single. The 7th should be The Night Is Still Young then a dual release with Buy A Heart and The Crying Game.

The Pinkprint has some great songs on there. I just wished there were more ways to promote an album. I know she said she wanted the urban side of the album to get its life first and then move on to the other records. But the fact that it went gold in less time than RR after debuting with less sales says a lot. It will sell another 400K before years end.

The reason her first album (pink friday) did so well was because she was NEW and fresh and filling a void in the music bizz (female rapper). And everyone gravitated towards her because of it and didnt hurt that Wayne was popular at the time either!
As far as if the pink print will go platinum I think time will tell but I feel its a better album then her debut for sure sonically.
