Watch: Rita Ora Electrifies ‘Ellen’ With ‘Body On Me’ [Performance]

With a new album nigh, Rita Ora continues to tackle the TV circuit in support of lead single ‘Body On Me.’

Said push led the Londoner to the Ellen stage today, where she turned in a spirited showing of the track – which, in its recorded form, features Chris Brown.

Watch Ora in action after the jump…

Hmm.

Granted we enjoyed the live band arrangement, this wasn’t our favorite showing of the track. Something – nerves, perhaps – prevented Rita from getting into the groove of things and it showed, distracting the flow.

What’s more, the random rifts and “oh oh oh no”s don’t make identifying the song’s melody (one of its strongest characteristics) particularly easy for those who’ve yet to hear it.

By no means terrible, we just expect better.

Your thoughts?

The whole style and concept of this performance was copied from Rihanna’s Dimaonds performance on the X Factor. I can’t.

And a quick Google search showed me that the song still hasn’t charted on the Hot 100 in the USA. Chile. All the promos and still nobody currr.

Thank god she doesn’t copy that voice though! Like her or not, Rita Ora out sings Rihanna the chain smoker.

It’s the same thing with the jimmy Kimmel performance. She just doesn’t seem settled into the song. If they were going to do this mellow arrangement, she should’ve been ina something drapey and had the wind machine blowing her about for the gods. Vocally she just needs to concentrate on delivering the essentials powerfully and assuredly. Save the ohs and ahs for the ending chorus. This is stuff that someone on their second album shouldn’t be dealing with. What was she giving you guys in the uk. Her US showing has not yet been impressive. You can say what you want about rhi but at the least she gives presence and an sense of cconfidence.

You are so right! Because of she had copied Rihanna’s voice she wouldn’t sound like a foreign British tart with a mouth full of water. She sounds terrible.

Sam I don’t get it…. Why do you post about Rita when you know nobody cares???

This clone reminds me a lot of the Original Rita…. what’s her name again… Oh Rihanna
From fuucking the same married man to their style to the basic performances……

I’m actually surprised that the single hasn’t entered the top 10 on the UK charts yet. That’s weird, considering that she has 4 #1 hits there. The best single she’s released this year is “Poison”. That song slays and it should’ve been her fifth #1.

Why do I think of Nicole Sherzinger when I hear this atrocious song?

    • toohotfortv October 5, 2015

Come on, now… she’s definitely not as bad as Nicole (and I just mean in terms of Nicoles choice of material).

    O-K-…

The song did not chart in the USA. AGAIN. It flopped globally, and, even in the UK- her market. Sadly, she is not ever gonna be a superstar.

She needs to be careful. She’s concentrating so much on US market (with no returns) that it could affect her place in the UK. See Cathy Dennis, Natalie Imbruglia and Natasha Beddingfield etc.
