The problem with this whole era was 45seconds. Riri needed a big sounding song as a comeback single and everything would have panned out better for her I think. She has always had a focus visually as well but she has been all over the place. The cover art of both 45seconds and BBHMM made it seem like she had a theme going on and this promo pic looks in line with that and she should stick to that and put some focus back into her pop career.
Nothing was wrong with FFS, it was a perfect lead single and it was different a do many peo le liked it and it received universal acclaim. It’s also the best selling single from the album and had the least promo. The song has sold over 4.5 million WW and was top 10 ww in major charts, imagine if she actually properly promoted the song.

She’s been on top the singles charts (up until 2012) because her lack of talent and natural musical personae made her a blank canvas capable of changing styles and looks as trends changed… it had nothing to do with anything she herself brought to the table (except maybe her good looks, and that bad girl personae which we all learned was fake on February 8th, 2009). Unfortunately none of this came together to form a bigger story, which is why her albums are such non-events.
As for her touring, in North America and Australia, she’s still the weakest seller among all major pop girls (Beyoncé, Taylor, Katy Perry, Pink, maybe even Ariana Grande at the point). And her tickets are the lowest priced and still don’t sell out quickly. For these stadiums in Europe, she’s using The Weekend’s popularity (he’s more than capable of selling out arenas in Europe by himself), but I wouldn’t be surprised of some of these were canceled due to “scheduling conflicts”. She’s not the kind of artist who can sell on her name alone, because for artists like her, their name is only as strong as their last major hit…
