The success of the New Edition biopic left many in speculation on whose portrait would be next to be painted on the silver screen.
Now, news of a Jodeci film has arisen from one of the group’s members. During an interview, producer Mr. Dalvin confirmed the band’s biopic is indeed in the works.
To further plug the news, the 45-year-old shared the interview on his Instagram. Peep the clip below.

Though we’re in high anticipation, the forthcoming flick has a high bar to reach following BET‘s resonating biopic for New Edition.
What’s most concerning is the film is expected to begin production next month with a release towards tail of 2017, which couldn’t possibly provide an efficient timeline for a satisfactory final product. Or could it?
In any case, Jodeci is well deserving of a movie that chronicles their journey through the music industry.
Like their predecessors New Edition, the legacy of Jodeci’s music and persona is exhibited in contemporary male R&B. And with artists such as Drake expressing admiration for the group’s contributions on more than one occasion, it’s about time the new generation became hip – on mass – to this iconic quad.
So is this the new way the industry is making money off of R&B? By making biopics of our classic artists…smh

You know a lot about her, maybe you should write the story line. Anyway, I wasn’t saying it was bad, what I mean is the industry needs to give R&B artists a chance and stop using white people to perform the music, making movies but not giving R&B a shot on the radio like they used to.
O lawd anything the VHI touches turn to CRAP so this is going to be a fiasco! NO mame!

They should really take their time and don’t rush out a movie just to capitalize on the success of the New Edition movie because it was DAMN GOOD. You can tell alot of money was put into the movie and promotions, is vh1 willing to dish out that kind of cash? Hell even Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak My Heart” movie looked like it had a good budget and she did great promotion and had great ratings. How are they going to filming in March and have it out before the end of the year? This isn’t a video, it’s a full blown movie!

Missy and Timbaland did their first production work for Jodeci! Devante became jealous of the success Timbaland and Missy had with Aaliyah and Ginuwine after leaving him, Al B Sure! help write and produce their first album…”So you’re having my baby” is a line Al B Sure wrote about having QUINCY with Kim Porter, Puff Daddy gave them their look, swag, produced for them, Heavy D brought them to Andre Harrell, Mary J Blige was in a tumultuous relationship with K-Ci including domestic abuse, the whole My Life album is mostly about K-Ci, T-Boz dated Mr. Dalvin, Suge Knight signed Jodeci and Mary J Blige to his management and physically intimidated Andre Harrell in order to do so…I KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT

Janet is way to big of a superstar for a BET Biopic it just won’t happen. Maybe somebody like Lil Kim or a film about a comedian like Redd Foxx, or something she’s considered actual entertainment royalty, if she’s private with her life what in hell makes you think she’ll give them the authorization for BET to do a biopic on her, you must be dreaming.

I would actually applaud the movie alot if K-Ci actually documents his domestic abuse to Mary J Blige unlike Dr. Dre. It would just show maturity and that he has learned a lot from that relationship and educates other men in the process to not follow his mistake.
