50 Cent has learned that ‘Starz‘, the platform which houses his show ‘Power’, is under pressure to punish him after he and Russell Simmons mocked Terry Crews for revealing he was sexually assaulted by Adam Venit of WME.
Backing the bid to reprimand 50? 10,000 people.
This is the scoundrel who is accused of grabbing Terry’s penis without his permission at a party and, according to Crews, sought to prevent him from coming forward with his story with help from fellow alleged predator Russell Simmons.
Keen to use his experience to dismantle the system which fails to protect men, women and children from deplorable perverts, Crews has spent the last year meeting with lawmakers he hopes will help him on his quest to protect the vulnerable.
How 50 responded? By mocking him in a now deleted Instagram post endorsed by Russell Simmons, the man accused of raping over a dozen women and girls and who urged Crews not to press charges against Venit.
Bad news for ‘Starz’.
Why? They are now forced to face a powerful petition built to hold 50 accountable for his actions and to ask them why they’ve done nothing to punish him for them.
Last year, actor Terry Crews, following the footsteps of several brave women in TV and film, decided to tell his story of abuse and harassment. In 2016, at an industry function, accompanied by his wife and surrounded by other partygoers, a powerful Hollywood executive groped his privates.Crews bravely decided to file a police report against his abuser — even though he faced intimidation, loss of job opportunities, and he was possibly even hacked.
While most people hailed Terry Crews as brave for speaking up, rap mogul 50 Cent decided to mock him. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the rapper and producer uploaded a picture of Crews topless with the words “I got raped, my wife just watched.” He even captioned the photo with a crude insult to Crews: “LOL, What the f*** is going on out here man?”
50 Cent’s posts insinuated that Crews was somehow less of a man for being a victim of sexual harassment. His words were not only disappointing but also indicative of what the #MeToo movement is fighting against.
50 Cent is, in fact, a very powerful man in Hollywood. The rapper stars and produces in Starz’s most watched show “Power” and last year the cable network announced that he had signed on to produce three more shows for the premium channel.
Is this the mentality of Hollywood needs right now? Is this the type of producer Starz wants to work with? 50 Cent has sent a message loud and clear that he is not a fan of the #MeToo movement. And the actors in his employ now know that they can’t look to him if they ever experience sexual abuse at work.
Starz should send a message to the rapper and to all other potential producers and filmmakers that they will not tolerate this type of ignorance.
Hollywood’s sexual abuse epidemic is detailed in the documentary ‘An Open Secret.’
Fiddy is an overgrown kid who refuses to grow up and as for russ, another victim just came forward with her story. How strange that he is kekee-ing at Terry, meanwhile there are numerous accusations against him. Smh, news flash russ your #Timesup
Lance ruined their momentum. Whomever choose that song as the lead single needs to be clocked in the face!
Not saying 50’s words don’t create a problem, but he’s not the priority right now. Where’s the petition to stop Adam Venit from continuing at WME and any other agency? He is protected in the industry and that has resulted in Terry being threatened and having to turn down projects. Tell WME their time is up.
@Eric – I agree about WME and Adam Venit.
Great point!
That racist #MeToo movement is trying to take the focus off of that white man who assaulted Terry Crews. 50 Cent is dead wrong because he broadcasting his opinions publicly on twitter instead of keeping them to himself but that is up to Starz discretion how it handles its 1099 contractors. In America there is freedom of speech but there is NOT freedom to assault. Thus, it is Adam Venit that should be the center of attention for #MeToo.
What action has they taken against the perpetuator who committed the act?
Very good point.
So all the homophobic things 50 said over the years, and this is what people latch on to pressure networks to drop him?
If he didn’t lose endorsements for writing this on Twitter during the height of gay s****** epidemic https://www.queerty.com/50-cent-wants-gay-guys-to-commit-s******-lol-20100930 then why come for him over this? It was rude yes but as others have pointed out the abuser himself isn’t being boycotted or prosecuted.
Sounds to me like 50 Cent is closeted gay. What straight man even thinks of that sh|t. Gay men are on his mind because 50 Cent is gay or bisexual. The rumors have been floating around for over a decade that he is downlow. He should just embrace it like Diddy and keep it pushing.
I think you are right Jasmine. He has been strangely obsessed with gay people for a very long time and social media has only made it more obvious. Also I remember when Vivica Fox called him out on “Watch What Happens” as being suspect. “Pot kettle” she said.

50 Cent’s mother is lesbian too, so he’s truly being hypocritical, lashing out, self hating and highly suspect lol ?
I said this s*** years ago 5o cent will mess up his career with his girly antics. If he would have kept his mouth shut about Jarule s*** and trying to rap battle everyone else in the game at the time he probably still be selling albums. But the buyers saw a weak as women in the rap game who did f** s***. 50 cent don’t know when to shut the f*** up. His mouth is going to end his career. It took him a few years before any
He had some hard bumps along the way with his big screen movie career. Now he finally jumping off in some type of way he doesn’t know how to act. He doesn’t know how to act when the Lord blesses him. But he forgets the lord can take it away
