Roseanne Barr is still engulfed in the flames of the racism row, which saw her axed from her own show.
However, the shamed actress – who branded Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett an ape – a has found an unlikely ally in none other than Mo’Nique.
During an interview on KTLA this week, the star – who made headlines earlier this year after calling for a boycott of Netflix – branded Barr her “sister in comedy” and urged the masses to not “throw her away.”
Details below…
Explaining her stance, Mo, said:
“We’ve all said and done things baby that we wish we could take back and swallow and say, ‘Oh.’ But when you’re in the public eye, you can’t and it’s out there. But to put the title of ‘racist’ on her…”
She expanded on the root of her support, saying:
“I remember when I had The Mo’Nique Show and there were big, major black superstar talent that had white representatives and they told their talent, ‘That show is too black and we really don’t want you to go on there. But there was a white woman named Roseanne Barr that showed up for me.
The Oscar winner went on to share advice Barr gave her:
“[She said] ‘Mo’Nique, I’m gonna tell you right now, baby, they’re gonna consider you ‘difficult.’ They’re gonna call you the B-word because you’re a woman who won’t lay down and take that foolishness.’”
Oh Mo.
Why and how does she consistently find herself on the wrong side of the equation that’s hardest to defend?
Sure, we get the point of “second chances,” but on what planet does Roseanne’s kind words “once upon a time in 99” negate the toxic talk she’s spewing in the here and now? Racial sensitivity isn’t a switch that’s allowed to be turned on and off at one’s will.
From where we’re sitting, we suspect Mo’Nique gets that and is simply jumping on this hot topic to pivot the conversation back in the direction of her on-going dramas and using Roseanne’s support from way back when as a means of doing so.
Ridiculous all round.
At this point let’s just throw Mo’Nique away. ??♀️
I agree. Monique is toxic. Good riddance. Back to the hoods of bmore she will go with her loud mouth-no class self.
i hate black ppl with that ole “MY SISTA MY BROTHA” s**** mentality. I’m like can we Just be black and not African American ?
Thanks for proving u are not black, so keep on wishing to be us, we say brotha and sista for RESPECT, something u white people lack ??
I agree with Monique 100%. In addition, people are intimidated by strong, educated and articulate woman of color. Examples are Monique, Kenya Moore, Omarosa, Michelle Obama, Voila Davis, Kelly Price and many more. Stand your ground!
Cosign! People keep forgetting that Roseanne is not new to the public. She has been famous for decades, and she is now seeing her career go up in smoke over one mistake. Granted it was a very stupid thing to say, but I do not think she should have been fired from her show over it. And like Monique said, Roseanne actually showed up and sat on Monique’s couch when a lot of black stars didn’t.
Be careful about trying to live in a world where no one can make a mistake, because no one is perfect. Not even you!

I can understand that Mo’Nique wants to support her peer in the name of comedy but Roseanne’s comments were totally racist and there is no excuse for that.
I’m Team Monique to the death! Black people have been nothing but racist towards Monique. Monique is consistent. If Roseanne Barr came through to show her love during The Monique Show, I respect Monique for being loyal. Black people put Amy Schumer, Lee “The Great White Hope” Daniels, Oprah “Only Make White People Rich” Winfrey, and Tyler “The Black C***” Perry over Monique. Black people wants to keep a black family broke while they make white families rich. Oh yeah, what has Valerie Jarrett ever done for you? When Roseanne said she thought Valerie was white, did Valerie say to the world that she is Black? Heck no. Valerie wants to keep her white family, friends, and jobs happy.
Agree 100%
Yolanda you are the worst type of coooon…ie…the kind that is a coooooon but does not even know it. You practice the very same thing you proclaim to be against. Stop generalizing black people and disrespecting our legends to promote your fav. What charity has Monique done? None. What new black comedians or actors has Monique managed or helped get stardom? None. What platform has Monique given to new black actors? None. Oprah, Tyler, and Lee has done all of those things so respect them b|tch! They create jobs for blacks dumb ass b|tch. Valerie Jarrett is the most powerful black woman in white house history so respect her too b|tch. Roane calling Valerian an a** is indeed racist you stupid b|tch! Valerie sure as he’ll don’t look white stupid ass so Roseanne was certainly being a ruthless racist b|tch whem she called Valerie an a** and she was banking on her white trash audience (who was already tired of her) and loyal black trash coooons like you to keep supporting her because you don’t know any betteer. Get educated girl and stop writing you unintelligent opinions on social media. I feel sorry for your kids (if you have any) because they will grow up to be backwards like you with u as their mom.
Valerie didn’t need to come out and state her race and no one is asking her to, because what Roseanne said is offensive to ALL black people. She still wants to say that her words were political and not racially motivated, but it’s not true, because we know where the a** epithet comes from, and more than 90% of Muslims in North America are black, so Roseanne knew her words were racially charged, especially if she’s smart enough to have a conversation with MoNique about problems she ma y face in the industry. I agree with MoNique in terms of forgiving Roseanne, but forgiveness does not require putting Roseanne back in the position she was in. Roseanne has actually continued to insult Valerie, most recently talking about her hair. Roseanne has serious issues and does not need a sitcom to work those problems out.
Ugh. She needs to hush!! This is the exact reason why we are always in trouble with society . Do better sis!
That same energy you all have for Monique. Keep it for all of the rappers that constantly call Black women bushes and hoez! How many Black men like Steve Harvey and Kanye have supported Trump outright! But,Monique and Chrisette Michelle had to take the Falls for going against the Grain! Yea, black women are so brainwashed!!!
Shut up peasant b|tch. Your overweight favs played a card and lost the game. There is nothing stopping Monique from producing her own comedy shows and movies. She is lazy. Similarly, there was nothing stopping Christie Michelle’s ability to sell music before or after Trump. She is lazy.
Steve Harvey and Kanye West work multiple jobs. Steve has 4 jobs on television, 1 job on radio, 1 job as announcer, and several other gigs. Kanye has 1 job as musician, 1 job as label owner, 1 job as fashion designer, 1 job as producer, and several other jobs.
Thus, your argument is stupid b|tch. Tell your fat favs to put down the donuts, stop whining, and start working hard.
I try to root for Monique, but God does she make it difficult.
