The Black Eyed Peas are back and wasting no time trumpeting their return with another video. And this time it’s for ‘CONSTANT PART 1 & 2.’
Unleashed today, the clip follows the release of the visuals for ‘Get It’ and ‘RING THE ALARM pt.1, pt.2, pt.3.’
Directed by will.i.am and Ernst Weber, the song samples Slick Rick‘s ‘Ladidadi’ and also features a cameo from the man himself. Check it out below…
As ardent appreciators of the Peas’ discography (including their early run), we’re receptive of any incarnation that steps forward.
Commercially, though, one has to wonder how much – if at all – the masses will take to a Fergie-less BEP.
By stepping out as a trio, are they diluting the buzz for her hopefully inevitable return? Or is this amplifying anticipation? What say you? What are…
Well before Fergie they were originally a trio, however they didn’t achieve commercial success until she signed on. So all that to say that on a commercial level, this won’t do much but fans who have been with them since the early ‘90’s will enjoy this.
@Meteorite – They’ll be fine. Fergie can’t even capture commercial success on her own at this point so I think that the Peas will be fine.
I like this … the sound is much more like their older stuff. This sits with the likes of Common, Talib Kweli etc
I said the same thing it’s like a modern version of Bridging The Gap era….quality wise they fell off with Fergie but this the BEP I really grew up with and missed so much
Love it! Reminds me of A Tribe Called Quest in the beginning and the second half is definitely the dance music that I love. On another note, I’m not sure how I feel about this young lady’s voice.
Same!
Anything to get those funds!!
