Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has revealed why she feels it would be immoral for her to identify as a black woman despite the fact that she has African ancestry in an interview with MSNBC.
The powerful political figure was discussing Elizabeth Warren‘s claim that she is of Native American descent and how said claim may have hurt her chances of winning the Presidential election in 2020.

I agree that Elizabeth Warren was wrong to ignore the rest of her heritage which is mainly European, and falsely claim to be Native American just to attempt to gain an advantage. Her so called apologies so far have not really acknowledged that what she did was intentional appropriation and she did it more than once. She comes across as very inauthentic on this subject which leads me to question her overall authenticity. I don’t think I can look over this if she doesn’t fully acknowledge her actions. All this stuff about her family telling her stories and not being a member of a tribe is crap. No one in her family told her that she was a Native American, they may have told it was part of her heritage somewhere down the line, but I’m sure she has enough common sense to know that they were not telling her to consider herself that. Her actions were intentional, not mistaken.
