Melissa McCarthy isn’t the only star in the running to play Ursula in the new ‘Little Mermaid‘ movie.

After fans learned that Melissa was first in line to portray the camp sea witch they took to social media to call on Disney to consider Tituss Burgess and the soulful Pop princess Lizzo.
Disney paid attention and are now said to be considering the latter for the role after spotting the messages below.

Ursula, as she is today, was created by Ron Clements and John Musker and based on the sea witch character which appears in the original Hans Christian Andersen story.
Pat Carroll voiced the character in Disney’s animation.
