As TV shows go, ‘Friends’ has proven to be the gift that keeps giving.

Indeed, 15 years after its last episode aired, the sitcom continues to warm hearts and tickle the funny bones of millions worldwide.

And yet, there remains an appetite from some corners for something new from the seismic six.

Well, after years of exploring solo projects, it looks like they may be about to oblige.

Citing sources close to HBO, Deadline reports that talks are underway for an unscripted ‘Friends’ reunion special on the network’s soon-to-launch streaming platform – HBO Max.

The news comes after Jennifer Aniston broke the internet last month with the Instagram snap below:

Shortly after sharing it, the star of Apple TV series ‘The Morning Show’ seemed to hint at some kind of ‘Friends’ project during an appearance on ‘Ellen.’ Because though dismissing the prospect of a reboot, she did offer up the following:

“I would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

With the TV streaming wars heating up, this would be a huge coup for HBO Max – and, of course, the millions of ‘Friends’ fans around the globe.

We see it wise that they’re not rebooting, but proceeding with a collaborative effort of some sort may be a good look. What that exactly is will be interesting to see.
